Associate Specialist Emergency Medicine

Job Description

One of our NHS Clients are currently seeking a highly skilled Specialist Doctor in Emergency Medicine to join their dynamic and dedicated team at their 24-hour Accident and Emergency (A&E) department. The department consists of a minors and majors area which includes a plaster room. They handle acute injuries or illnesses that are less than 48 hours old, which may or may not be life-threatening. Our department covers a wide range of specialities including Medicine, Surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, and Plastics.

Key Requirements:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Medicine
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligibility for registration
  • Proven experience in Emergency Medicine
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
  • Flexibility to work on a 10 PA rota basis, including weekends and night shifts

Responsibilities:

  • Assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients who present with acute injuries or illnesses
  • Providing expert care to patients in the A&E department
  • Working collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients
  • Participating in the teaching and training of junior doctors and medical students
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with hospital policies
