Clinical Research Physician (Sub Investigator)

Job Description

We invite applicants to apply for a role as a Sub Investigator at a leading provider of clinical services specialising in cognitive impairment. The site is based in Winchester. This role would suitable for a junior doctor, research physician or senior research physician.

The working hours are part-time and 2-3 days per week but for the right candidate full-time hours can be made available but would be covering clinics in London and Guildford until the capacity is needed in Winchester.

What does a clinical research physician do?

Your role will involve working under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator. Responsibilities include maintaining adequate control of the study drug and appropriate records of drug disposition and maintaining adequate records of each subject’s participation. The main priority will be to ensure subject recruitment is conducted ethically and efficiently by partaking in the pre-screening recruitment initiatives and activities. What is the progression?

The team are keen to consider candidates with an interest to progress to PI level. At the discretion of the Medical Director and Clinical Operations Director, and following at least 6 months of Sub Investigator responsibilities, you will be invited to complete training for Principal Investigator responsibilities, with a view to updating your CV with new experience and training, to apply to Sponsors to be considered for a PI position and responsibility for a number of the Clinical Trials. The most rapid Sub-I to PI progressions have been with research physicians who have joined with their MRCP (UK) qualification in place.
