The Department of Medicine comprises of consultants with special interests in respiratory medicine, cardiology, gastroenterology, diabetes and endocrinology, and care of the elderly. While the Trust has multiple sites, you will be based at one. The organization upholds a firm commitment to continuing professional development and the opportunity to participate in specialist clinics and procedure lists.
This is a 12-month permanent contract however the Trust can extend the post to a two-year fixed-term position. The post requires independent upper and lower endoscopy, outpatient clinics, and an inpatient responsibility for the gastroenterology ward on a 1:3 rotational basis. The post includes a commitment to the emergency endoscopy rota plus GIM on call rota. Accreditation in Gastroenterology and general Internal medicine is required, although applicants within 6 months of gaining CCT are also encouraged to apply.
