We are delighted to open applications for a consultant to join the respiratory team at a prestigious NHS trust in the South of England. You will provide a comprehensive Respiratory Medicine service to the residents of the town and surrounding areas.

About the job

You will support and improve outpatient, inpatient, Endoscopic, Respiratory Physiology, Lung Cancer, Sleep and other existing services in Respiratory and General Medicine and will lead and support the development of new services as appropriate.

This role is suitable for a consultant who wants to take the next step in their career and share their knowledge with junior doctors who are embarking on their own respiratory careers. You will have an active part in teaching and training medical students, post-graduate medical staff and nursing staff and shaping the future of respiratory medicine.

The department and trust are supportive and will encourage you to develop and pursue an area of interest in your own speciality as agreed and appropriate. You are able to take part in the audit, research and clinical governance activities.

This specific post has 11 PAs and to take part in an acute medical on-call rota of a split weekend every 7 weekends. We have a copy of the rota available if you would like to review it in more detail. About you

The ideal doctor will have the below:

  • MBBS
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • GMC Specialist Registration
  • Depth and breadth of experience in General Internal Medicine and Respiratory Medicine
  • Ability to lead and develop the service
