t is essential for the Consultant to be on the Specialist Register of the GMC (or have full registration and be able to provide evidence of expectation of receipt of the award of the CCT within six months of the date of interview) and hold a licence to practice.
The General Surgical Department provides a comprehensive general surgical service covering all the main sub-specialities, including laparoscopic surgery, with specialist nurse support in some areas.
- Medically qualified and possess FRCS
- GMC Registration and a license to practice at time of application
- Eligible for entry on GMC Specialist Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) at time of interview or evidence that the GMC is processing the Specialist Registration application (MUST be provided prior to interview)
