An exciting opportunity has come in for a Junior Fellow to join this emergency medicine department, You will be working in a proactive and friendly multidisciplinary team, including clinical and managerial colleagues to achieve and maintain high quality clinical services.

 Your main role will be essentially to assess and treat patients in the Emergency Medicine and you will be given the option to work either a 40 hour full shift rota or less than Full working time will also be considered

This fellowship will be split - 75% clinical (on the junior doctor rota) and 25% allocated to pursuits (clinical or non-clinical) giving the successful applicant the time and space to undertake work that furthers their interests and their medical career.


Job Summary

 As an ED fellow you will join a very well supported team working principally in the Adult ED of a leading Major Trauma Centre.

 You will be allocated a supervising EM Consultant with relevant interests to support your project from amongst our renowned team

 There is EM Consultant presence on the shop floor at least 23 hours a day Monday to Friday and 16 hours per day over the weekend. When a consultant is not present in the department there will typically be two doctors of ST4+ level.


Main Duties

  • You will work on the Emergency Department junior doctor rota covering a range of shifts (including night shifts and weekends)
  • During these clinical shifts you will find yourself supported working in areas such as Majors and Resus providing quality Emergency Care.
  • You will either participate in an existing QI project/Audit/Teaching or come up with your own (with support)


Essential Criteria

Desirable candidates for this role would ideally be someone  with previous NHS experience - ideally 4 to 6 months NHS experience

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

Primary Medical Qualification recognized by the GMC - PLAB/MRCP/MRCEM
