Pilgrim general hospital was opened in 1976 to replace several small hospitals. It has a 24-hour major Accident and Emergency Department and all main specialties. The hospital has recently undergone extensive redevelopment including a new maternity unit and women's health facilities.

Pilgrim Hospital is a large hospital in the east of Lincolnshire on the A16, north of the town of Boston near the mini roundabout with the A52. It is situated virtually on the Greenwich Meridian and adjacent to Boston High School.

Boston is a town and small port in Lincolnshire, on the east coast of England. It is the largest town of the wider Borough of Boston local government district. The borough had a total population of 66,900, at the ONS mid 2015 estimates, while the town itself had a population of 35,124 at the 2001 census.

Boston's most notable landmark is St Botolph's Church, said to be the largest parish church in England, with one of the taller towers in England visible for miles around from the flat lands of Lincolnshire.
