Sunderland are looking a middle grade Vascular Surgery doctor to fill a full time job for 3 months.
South Tyneside and Sunderland Foundation Trust is one of three tertiary centres for vascular services in the North East. The service consists of 8 Consultant Surgeons and 4 Specialist Vascular Nurses supported by a wide team of junior doctors, nursing and administrative staff.
Our comprehensive vascular and endovascular service is offered to Sunderland, South Tyneside, Durham and Bishop Auckland patients, including open and endovascular intervention for aortic aneurysms and peripheral vascular disease. We also offer carotid surgery where appropriate for stroke prevention, renal access procedures and various ambulatory endo-venous treatments for varicose veins.
All major operations and in-patient procedures take place at Sunderland as the ‘hub’ site, with outpatient clinics at Sunderland and other ‘spoke’ sites including South Tyneside, Bishop Auckland and University of North Durham Hospitals. Our dedicated vascular ward (C36) at Sunderland Royal Hospital has capacity for 24 inpatients. Day-case procedures are also undertaken from Durham Treatment Centre to provide services close to home for patients in the Durham locality.

- Valid GMC registration
- Relevant NHS Experience
- Be able to pass framework compliance requirement
