Specialty Doctor in Clinical Haematology

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialty Doctor in Clinical Haematology.

You will be joining a friendly, enthusiastic team at University Hospitals University NHS Trust located in North England that provides daily service to more than 4.000 patients.

This is a full-time post but includes a requirement to work across other UHDB sites should the need arise. Any candidate who wishes to work less than full time will be considered and supported, taking into account service needs.

The contract is 12 months initially with a view to extending upon mutual agreement

Main duties:

 1. Provision of middle-grade support to the Clinical Haematology Service.

2. To share responsibility with middle-grade doctors in the day-to-day management of Haematology patients.

3. Twice weekly consultant/DT ward round.

4. Daily ward rounds.

5. Participation in MDT meetings.

6. Ward referrals

 7. Outpatient clinics

8. Teaching to Foundation Programme doctors

9. Active participation in Clinical Governance, audit, and research activities in the department.

10. Assisting in administrative tasks of the department.

11. Keeping up-to-date and participating in CPD. 12. Participation in annual appraisals.



Full GMC Registration with a License to Practise at appointment.

MBBS or equivalent qualification

At least four years’ full-time postgraduate training at least two of which will be in a Specialty training program in a relevant specialty with responsibility in Acute Medicine.
